Montenegrin driver Filip Kunčer continued his impressive run at the start of the season, securing second place in the second race held at Circuito del Jarama in Madrid, as part of the Renault Clio Cup Spain championship.
The race was marked by an extremely exciting battle for thelead, with the gap between the two front runners remaining within one second for almost the entire race. At the same time, the pair significantly pulled away from the rest of the field, building a gap of more than ten seconds to the third-placed driver, further high lighting the pace and quality they demonstrated on track.
After the race, Kunčer said he was very satisfied with his overall performance at the season opener.
“I’m extremely happy with the weekend and the pace we showed. Two races, two podiums, and a constant fight for the win are great confirmation that we are on the right track. These were excellent preparation races ahead of the European Championship and an additional motivation to keep pushing,” said Kunčer.
The European championship, Renault Clio Cup Europe,begins on the first weekend of April at Circuit Paul Armagnac in Nogaro,where the Montenegrin driver will have a new opportunity to confirm his strongearly-season form.
