At the start of the new season, at the renowned Circuito delJarama in Spain, Montenegrin driver Filip Kunčer secured an excellent second place after a thrilling and closely contested battle with last year’s European champion David Pouget.
Competing in the Renault Clio Cup Spain series, Filip was fighting for the top positions from the very beginning thanks to his outstanding qualifying performance. By lap five, he overtook David Pouget and took the lead, which he held for a significant portion of the race. What followed was an exceptionally exciting duel, with position changes lap after lap, until Pouget reclaimed first place three laps before the finish.
At the end of the race, French driver David Pouget stated that he was extremely satisfied with the fair and sportsmanlike battle, praising the excellent driving of the Montenegrin competitor and emphasizing that it was a pleasure to claim victory after such a tough and honest race.
On the other hand, Filip Kunčer expressed great satisfaction with his first appearance on a proper circuit following the winter break and simulator training at home. He demonstrated that he has the knowledge and skill to compete at the very top, which is also his clear objective for this season.
